Preguntas frecuentes:

To climb Pico de Orizaba, you must be in excellent physical condition. We recommend having completed at least one prior ascent, such as Nevado de Toluca or a peak above 4,500 meters.

You’ll hike for about 12 hours, divided into 9 hours of climbing and 3 hours of descent.

It’s a very cold mountain, especially at dawn when temperatures can drop to -10°C.

It’s extremely important to bring all the clothing listed. We do not allow ascents in sneakers or without proper high-altitude boots and appropriate gear for this type of activity.

With more than 2 people, we can organize private outings on any day you prefer. Prices may vary depending on the number of participants.

We don’t sleep much because the ascent begins at midnight, but we rest for a few hours at the camp.

The tents are provided by us, shared between two people.

We have a highly qualified team of guides who will take care of you at all times.

Vanessa Estol often accompanies many of our trips as a team leader (though she is not a guide), depending on the group size.

We usually go to this mountain on Fridays or Saturdays.

We depart from Mexico City from a meeting point in Colonia del Valle very early in the morning to arrive in the village of Tlachichuca before noon. There, we switch to a 4×4 vehicle and drive another hour and a half to the base camp of Pico de Orizaba, where we set up camp and distribute the mountaineering equipment.

The usual ratio is 2 people per guide. In exceptional cases, if someone needs to descend, a group of 3 people with one guide may be formed.

If you want a higher chance of success and not depend on the person climbing with you, you can inquire about private guided climbs.

Once you reserve your spot, we secure services such as guides and transportation; therefore, there are no changes or cancellations. However, you can transfer your spot to a friend if you cannot attend.

The only condition is that the person must meet the physical requirements for the activity and be over 18 years old.

We cannot guarantee good weather or summit success. However, we do not organize this type of expedition during the rainy season to avoid situations that could reduce the chances of success.

Most of the people who travel with us come without companions. Don’t worry about this. Our groups bring together people who share a love for nature and adventure, and they always leave with new friends.

Participants must be at least 15 years old and accompanied by their parents, guardians, or tutors. There is no upper age limit. We’ve taken people up to 75 years old who are physically active without any issues.

The only requirement is to be someone who exercises regularly and has no medical conditions that would prevent participation.

No. We include the helmet, trekking poles, crampons, ice axe, ropes, etc., in the cost.

You only need to bring your mountaineering clothing and, of course, proper boots.
